The Illusionist

If you get a chance to see The Illusionist at the cinema I implore you to go - it's absolutely stunning featuring the most beautiful animation I have ever seen in a film. Edinburgh has never looked so good. Click here to watch the trailer.

'The Music One' zine in London and Glasgow shops

'The Music One' is now being stocked in the wonderful art and design shops Lik + Neon in East London (on Sclater Street just off Brick Lane) and Welcome Home in Glasgow (on Kieth Street) so go and grab a copy without fear of postal costs or indeed thieving rob dog posties nicking your zine. It's a well known fact posties love zines almost as much as they like to whistle tunelessly and at volume in the early hours of the morning.

I'm down to the last forty copies and won't be doing a second run anytime soon due to other commitments - not least beginning 'The Film One'. Any illustrators interested in contributing should email me at mr.naga@gmail.com.

'The Absurd Balloon' on Threadless

Following on from the fantastic response I've had to 'The Absurd Balloon' I've decided to submit it to Threadless to see if I can get it printed on a t-shirt. I'm more partial to a white t-shirt than a colour one but I've included a light blue option as well.

I really need some help getting it scored well so please take a minute to score it (preferably high!) and tick the 'Buy it' box too. Comments would also be appreciated - click here to be taken to the 'Absurd Balloon' Threadless page.

If you cut and paste your comments on Threadless about the design into this blog and it gets picked I'll send you a t-shirt when it gets printed!

My Home is the Sea black and white prints

Following the huge success of the 'My Home is the Sea' print series I put out last year which sold out in 48 hours I've managed to do a small run of larger scale black and white screen-prints. I actually did these a while back but somehow forgot about them.

I initially did the fisherman, shark and octopus but I felt the octopus was a little ink heavy in black so I've decided to leave it out of this run. I also felt that it didn't quite sit as well in the series anyway. The prints measures 42cm x 42cm each and will be up for sale in the next couple of days. Send an email to mr.naga@gmail.com if you want to reserve a set - I think there's about 25 or so. More details to follow.

Gumnaam Drawing

I love Bollywood records. Trouble is a lot of them tend to be battered to fuck so you really take your chances buying them on-line. Last year I bought the Gumnaam soundtrack for the stonking surf track 'Jaan Pehechaan Ho' as featured in Ghost World but it can go for a bit of money so I opted for a battered non-sleeved version. To remedy this I did my own cack-handed version of the cover to screen print - I'll probably have a few spare prints if anyone is interested.

Zine - Samandtheplants

Here is my final zine contribution in full colour for Samandtheplants featuring Sam's home-made musical contraption. It was a tough choice (as documented on this blog previously) but 'The Eft' is easily the best record to come out since Joanna Newsom's 'Ys'. Besides Pavement are difficult to draw and don't really need another blog frothing at the mouth over them.

If you haven't bought it yet there's still a few of the Vivian Stanshall run left so hurry. Henry St Ledger is the rad.
